Omar Delaney is scheduled for a July 26 court hearing in Las Vegas on three counts of sexual assault and one count of lewdness, according to news reports. Delaney is from the Fircrest area of Tacoma, Washington. A police report dated April 20 was recently released. The year of birth in the report indicates he is 35 or 36.

Members of the wedding party, including Delaney and his fiancee, left on April night 19, including a stop at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, authorities said.

The victim said he drank three glasses of vodka as the group celebrated, according to news reports.

After returning to the Luxor Hotel and Casino about 11 p.m., Delaney offered the woman to go to her room, police reported. The Luxor is a pyramid-shaped resort on the southwest end of the Strip near McCarran International Airport. The Strip is just south of downtown.

The woman told police she was stood up but was "completely in control of her actions and thoughts," according to KLAS-TV . She and Delaney had not flirted or touched before the incident. Newsweek Magazine said she was a friend of Delaney's fiancée.

" Our little secret "

Delaney entered her room uninvited and, while bragging about his body and making comments to her, reached under the woman's clothing and pulled off her bra, police said.

I don't like it," she said, according to the police report.

Delaney left but returned a few minutes later, saying he had forgotten his glasses. He apparently used her room key, police said. He performed a sex act on her. She thought if she resisted, her safety would be threatened. He left the room but returned, again using the key. She went under the duvet to sleep, but he lay on top of her and raped her, media reported.

As he was leaving, Delaney reportedly told the woman that the interaction would be " our little secret. "

The woman went to tell a wedding guest what had happened, but Delaney was in the room, according to news reports. She left the room, saying she had a bad dream. She later called her mother and police.

Delaney was arrested and placed in the Clark County Detention Center. After posting $ 10, 000 bond, he was released on April 21.A few days later, a man identified as Delaney posted a wedding photo on Facebook, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal . In a Facebook post, a man identified as Delaney wrote: "Married AF yo.

Authorities recovered the victim's key in Delaney's room, according to Review Log . The key was used at 12: 21 am and then four times, including twice at 1 : 29 am on the scheduled wedding day.

British newspaper Daily Mail contacted a Facebook person identified as the bride, Tamara Rojas. She told the online version of the newspaper that the sexual contact was consensual.

"I'm still by my husband's side," she said.

Drug addicts, stolen watches

The Luxor incident follows an increase in crime on the Strip and nearby tourist areas from last year.

In the final months of 2020, police launched a crime suppression effort on the Strip. Police blamed out-of-town gangs and visitors for the increase in violent crime.

Among recent incidents, a woman was arrested twice on charges of using drugs at hotel casinos on the Strip and stealing their luxury watches. The most recent incident involved the theft of a $ 45, 000 Rolex.
