Almost two months after DraftKings announced its contract with DISH Network, the sports betting operator and Daily Fantasy launched a channel on the satellite TV provider's SLING TV streaming service.

The first channel is DraftKings Basketball. Available as both subscription and free SLING services, the channel provides viewers with real-time results and updated in-game odds for NBA games.

This new channel is just the beginning of how we plan to provide SLING TV customers with the DraftKings sports betting experience, ”said Michael Schwimmer, president of SLING TV in a statement. "We will continue to expand and improve our offering to be the best entertainment for sports fans."

SLING also plans to introduce a similar DraftKings host of MLB and NHL gaming channels in the coming weeks, according to a press release.

Paul Liberman, president of product and technology and co-founder of DraftKings, said the company is always looking for new ways to reach existing and potential customers.

"We are delighted to extend this partnership to offer SLING TV customers a whole new viewing experience with this first-of-its-kind streaming service," he said.

DraftKings Expanding media presence

The DraftKings mobile sports betting app is currently available in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Last month, just after signing the deal with DISH Network, DraftKings also acquired Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN), which is a cross-platform sports betting company.

DraftKings co-founder, CEO and chairman of the board, Jason Robins, said the company plans to adopt what many consider to be a highly reputable brand among bookmakers and help it grow. VSiN offers up to 18 hours of audio and video content per day through multiple outlets.

SLING is not just a streaming service for sports betting

SLING is just one streaming service entering the sports betting market. FuboTV, which promotes itself as a sports-focused streaming service, has made it clear that it intends to offer sports betting in the not-so-distant future.

Last month, fuboTV revealed it had struck a deal with Caesars Entertainment to gain market access in Indiana and New Jersey. It has also entered into agreements with MLB and the NBA to serve as authorized gambling operators, with these arrangements giving them the option to use the league logos and official data.

However, investors were not up for a fuboTV stock due to the sports betting operation. On December, 22 stocks hit a record high of $ 62. 29. Before the end of the year, however, it was down by more than 50 percent. Although it climbed back to $ 54. 24 Feb. 24, it has been on a downward trend since then. Closed Monday at $ 21.79.

One possible cause for concern is that fuboTV only has a fraction of its customer base when compared to SLING which ended 2020 with nearly 2.5 million customers according to DISH Network's financial data.

FuboTV executives expect to end the first quarter of around $ 530,000, and the service has been around for nearly six years. However, he forecasts growth this year and expects an increase of 770,000 by the end of the year.
