DraftKings commits to ICRG to investigate sports betting

DraftKings disclosed the financial exposure of the fund International Centre for Responsible Gaming to support sports betting research.

The Fund focuses specifically on responsible gaming in sports betting, with the goal of developing peer-reviewed, academic research that significantly contributes to the understanding and application of responsible gaming in the industry.

The ICRG has created a fund that accepts applications from researchers with the intention of launching later in the year to develop innovation and best practice in responsible sports betting

Researchers from top-tier academic institutions can compete for funding to uncover new insights into public health and sports betting, with applications opening this summer and closing in September 2021. Grant applications will be peer-reviewed before the ICRG's independent scientific advisory board selects the final recipient.

The selected recipient will be announced in September 2021 and will receive funding for a three-year project ending in 2024 , with the option to publish their research earlier in the three-year period. The research fund is open to U.S. or international public, private or non-profit organizations.
