Magnus Carlsen will help Kindred in corporate chess championship
Chess grandmaster and current world chess champion Magnus Carlsen is joining Kindred Group's chess team. The company's team is set to compete in the inaugural FIDE Online Corporate Chess World Championship.

Kindred Group has announced that it is sending a team to the first corporate FIDE Online World Chess Championship of its kind . The company's team consists of three employees and Magnus Carlsen chess grandmaster and Unibet ambassador.
In the first FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship a total of 288 teams are taking part . This inaugural event attracts 1467 players representing 78 countries on around the world. Joining the three-man team, Carlsen forms Team Kindred, which will compete in the tournament starting today. In addition, Carlsen has a two-year global sponsorship deal with Unibet from 2020.

Furthermore, Carlsen admitted that many teams compete, and some of them have shown high competence . He added that he was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by both Kindred and Unibet for chess.
Both Unibet and Kindred have previously shown their involvement in chess . Unibet was the first international gambling operator to introduce live chess odds in 2014. Carlsen was defending his world title at the time and won . In addition, in the same year Unibet was the main sponsor of the " No Logo Norway Chess ". The company was also the official bookmaking partner of FIDE in the 2018 World Championship match between Fabiano Caruana and Carlsen.
